ソフトバンクモバイル、2012年後半からソフトバンクWi-Fiスポットに5GHz帯を追加予定？

ソフトバンクモバイルは、現在、スポット数２４万ヶ所を突破している公衆無線LANサービス「ソフトバンクWi-Fiスポット」に関して、他の無線LANスポットやBluetoothなどの電波干渉を受けない5GHz帯を追加する準備を進めているようです。
総務省が3月23日に開催した、無線LANビジネス研究会第1回会合でも、2.4GHz帯無線LANスポットの乱立による電波干渉が問題点として指摘されています。
Apple製品では、MacとiPadで利用可能で、iPhone、iPod touchでは利用出来ませんが、Wi-Fiモデルのシェアが高いiPadでは利便性が上がると考えられます。
なお、発表時期は2012年第２四半期頃を予定し、サービス開始は2012年後半になると予想されます。

SoftBank Mobile seems to prepare to add 5Ghz band, which is not interfered by other Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, Wi-Fi for their public Wi-Fi service "SoftBank Wi-Fi Spot", which already have been served 240,000 spots in Japan.
Though iPhone and iPod touch can't connect this new band, Macs and iPads have already been ready for this new 5Ghz Wi-Fi. Customer of popular iPad Wi-Fi model is expected to have better experience.
SoftBank Mobile seems to release this service in 2Q of 2012, and will start in later 2012.
